Two waterfalls, a short walk from your tent
Eagle View sits on our family farm near Harburg in the KZN Midlands, right beside a gorge with two waterfalls. One of them drops into a rock pool you can swim in. From the air you can see the campsite on the open ground and the falls in the gorge right next to it.
How good it looks depends on the rain
We won’t oversell it: the falls change with the season. After a wet week they’re loud and full, spray and all. In a dry winter they’re closer to a trickle. If you’re coming mainly for the waterfall, summer after good rain is the time.
The two paths down
- The old gravel road is the easier route, and it’s always open.
- The steeper footpath is more scenic, but sometimes overgrown. We clear it every few weeks.
Both are a proper walk, done at your own risk, and not suitable for very unfit visitors. Wear shoes with grip, and take water.
Back at camp
- Open ground under the trees; pick any free spot when you arrive.
- Gas-heated hot showers, three for ladies and three for men. Welcome after a swim in the rock pool.
- Electricity included, from shared plug points (bring an extension cord).
- A lapa with a fireplace for everyone.
- Tents, caravans and rooftop tents, and well-behaved dogs, are all welcome.
